Panasonic Ice Cream Maker
Panasonic disregarded conventional freezer type ice cream maker thinking when they designed the BH 941P. Instead of putting the mixing bowl in the freezer for 8 to 12 hours to freeze it solid before mixing the ingredients together as is the norm with most other gel type ice cream makers, Panasonic took the complete opposite approach. With this Panasonic ice cream maker you throw all the mixed ingredients straight into the machine, at room temperature if you want, its not a problem, and then put the whole unit into the freezer. How easy is that?
The BH 941P ice cream maker is battery operated and churns away under its own steam for 3 to 5 hours, depending on how much ice cream you are making and on the temperature of your freezer - a 0 F freezer is recommended. How easy is that?
As you would expect there are a few drawbacks to all this versatility. To operate in dark frozen depths of your freezer this Panasonic ice cream maker is, as mentioned, battery powered. The batteries should average about 20 batches before needing replacing. If you are going to be churning out lots of the cold stuff it may be an idea to invest in rechargeable lithium batteries.
To fit in your freezer the Panasonic is fairly compact at 5-1/4 inches high and 6-1/2 inches in diameter, which unfortunately also means its maximum capacity is limited to about 3 cups.
